Happy Diwali!!!

By : Unknown
To all those who are with their loved once and also to those who wish to be, my heartfelt greetings and wishes for this wonderful festival of light and happiness.
As kids we used to believe that this day is the most amazing among them all and would dance and hop all around for no good reason. But now as we've grown up to be wiser and emotional than ever, we got to know the exact reason why we hopped and danced on this very day and felt lucky about the fact that we did so.
We may have been far from home on this special day but not so far at all. What we did was fun, what we are doing is wise and what we will do is uncertain, hence the cycle of histories and mysteries will keep on ascending to the day when we'll close our eyes forever leaving sweet and sour memories for rest of them to hold on to.
So just not being able to be with the people around isn't a reason to feel down. So lets just get up to our feet and lit up the house with candle and diyas all across, symbolizing the happiness and love that we care to have for others and beyond.
This very moment when you read these lines, I want you all to realise the value of someting that we all have in common "LIFE".  Live it to the most and just don't do it for its sake.
AGAIN, HAPPY DIWALI TO ALL MY LOVED AND CARED......By Darpan Sharma

Unemployment

Unemployment on rise in India-by Ramandeep Kaur

Creating new jobs is a crucial task and plays an important role in the economy. Drop in the financial market hits job market and creates unemployment. India has the largest population of youth in the world with about 66% of the population under the age of 35, so impact of declining financial market is the worst in India. Though education level in the recent years has increased but skill development is still a crucial issue. Moreover, poverty, limited access to skill based education, work experience are some of the major factors that lead to unemployment and underemployment. During recession, job freezing is the most common occurrence done by hiring companies. Under such circumstances there is a greater degree of unemployment.

What is unemployment and its types?

Unemployment is a situation when a capable and willing to do job workforce does not get work.Different forms of unemployment occur, few are not that harmful but few are very risky for the society as a whole. People waiting for their first job come under frictional unemployment. Such kind of unemployment is not regarded as dangerous and can be improved by creating more awareness regarding new job openings. Then comes the seasonal unemployment and this is specific to certain seasonal industries like tourism and farming. To reduce this, people must be encouraged to take other jobs in off season. The worst type of unemployment is the structural one. It comes into picture when there is a change in the structure of an economy. It is long term unemployment and can be caused by various reasons. Machines replacing human, change in the behaviour of consumer, etc are the causes. Structural unemployment can be reduced to great extent by providing retraining, on job training and by making people occupationally flexible.

Unemployment statistics in India
The Labour Bureau under Union Ministry of Labour and Employment released an Annual Employment & Unemployment Survey report. The report for 2012-13 states that Sikkim has the maximum number of unemployed people where as Chhattisgarh has the minimum number of unemployed people in the country. Overall unemployment rate of the country is 4.7%. In Northern India, Jammu and Kashmir has the maximum unemployment rate followed by Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana. Unemployment rate in rural area is 4.4% whereas in urban area it is 5.7%.
According to a National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) last year also there was a dip in India’s employment rate that had gone down to 38.6% in 2011-12 (July-June) from 39.2% in 2009-10. With this unemployment rate had gone up from 2.5% to 2.7%. In the year 2004-05 the employment rate was 42%. In the five year period falling between 2004-05 and 2009-10, 2.7 million new jobs were created where as in the previous five years 60 million new jobs were created. As per the survey number of women who lost their jobs was more than that of men. Number of employed men between 2009 and 2012 remain almost same but number of employed women dropped from 18% to 16%. Though in terms of percentage it looks small but the actual figures are really daunting. In rural sector about 90 lakh women lost their jobs in the period of two years. On the other hand 35 lakh women were added to the workforce in urban areas. Overall unemployment rate in females was more as compared to males. For females it was 7.2% whereas for male the unemployment rate was 4%.
State of Kerala being the most literate state in India had the highest rate of unemployment, i.e, close to 10% among the large states. Whereas rate of unemployment in West Bengal was 4.5% and in Assam it was 4.3%.
At the same time, decline in job creation has also been revealed by Monster.com through its Monster Employment Index India. Monster is one of the biggest online job portals. Because of the global economic conditions, Indian employers have posted less number of jobs in this job portal. The Monster Employment Index is a monthly measure of online job posting activity. The data is based on a real-time assessment. The same sluggish growth has been shown by the Naukri Job Speak Index of Naukri.com.
Number of workforce in agriculture sector has gone down and for the first time it is below 50%. The farm sector now has 49% of the workers whereas manufacturing sector has 24% and services sector has 27% workforce.
India must see and consider employment as a major driver of the economy. Economic growth in 2009-10 was 9.3% whereas in 2011-12 it came down to 6.2%.
Jobless youth is left with no other option but to go for self employment and if he does not possess specific skill then youth has to do low paying jobs like hawking magazines, etc.
On the other hand youth is now more interested in skill based job as salary is better. This has been shown by an increase in the education loans in India.  As per the data by Reserve Bank of India, in the past four years, outstanding education loan in the category of personal loan has almost doubled. Also there is a rise in the number of defaulters of education loan that clearly indicates the unemployment state in India especially for students who are looking for a job is bad.
According to the reports by NSSO, illiterate population has the lowest unemployment rate. Because this segment of the society is ready to do low paying jobs. Educated youth is facing the most of unemployment that shows lack of skill based employment opportunities in India.

Impact of Unemployment
Apart from financial impact, unemployment has many social impacts like theft, violence, drug taking, crime, health as well as it leads to psychological issues. Next comes the poverty that is directly linked with unemployment as well as inequality. Long term unemployment can actually ruin the family and the society.
Updates
In September 2015, the unemployment reached a mark that 23 lakh people applied for 368 posts of peon in the state secretariat in Uttar Pradesh. Among the applicants, 255 candidates with a PhD degree and more than two lakh hold BTech, BSc, Mcom and MSc degrees.

I remember that!!!

By : Unknown
Hey Guys, after all these days of silence, i thought of saying HI to you all!!!, Hope you all are doing good with your busy lives and congested schedule.

Something I would like to share with you guys, a handful words put together to make something that can be worth reading (may be not).. depends on us how we take it.

It says.....

                              I
I remember that!!

I remember that, I remember the way you looked at me,
The first time your eyes looked upon mine…
Oh my….
That very moment thought I’d be yours all the way!!!

Cause you’re an angle just a bit naïve than
How they ought to be…

Shimmering eyes, dazzling smile,
The clouds are now clearing by,
Oh my….I remember that.

I stood still, confused,
Whether to gaze or to refrain,
Or just click a photo,
To keep close to mine.

The first word with the lips open and closed,
Just speared me all the way,
Letting me quiet as dead,
There’s so many things I should have said,
Thought of it every moment after..
Oh My my….I remember that…

Noise of the city just turned musical,
Nothing would bother me then,
Neither the crowd nor the emptiness,
Coz then I had her, with myself,
in my heart just stuck with her memories,
Oh my…I remember that…

Next moment, I felt stolen,
Like something has been taken,
Like a rose that has been forsaken,
Away it goes, far away,
Breaking the spirits, I had it,
All the time, all the way,
What remains is just memories,
Just a bit of what you were,

Oh my….I remember that……

NASA Confirms Earth Will Experience 15 Days Of Darkness

By : Unknown

Astronomers from NASA have indicated that the World will remain in complete darkness starting Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 3:00 am and will end on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 4:45 pm. According to officials, (the November blackout will be caused by an Astronomical event between Venus and Jupiter)

Charles Bolden, who was appointed to the head of NASA by President Obama, issued a 1000 page document explaining the event to the White House.

According to the report, Venus and Jupiter will engaged in a close parallelism, only being separated by 1 degree. Venus will pass to the South-west of Jupiter, causing Venus to shine 10 times Brighter than Jupiter. The light from Venus will heat up the gases on Jupiter causing a reaction.
reDY
The gaseous reaction will release an unprecedented amount of hydrogen into space. The hydrogen gas will make contact with Earth’s Sun at approximately 2:50 am. The amount of hydrogen making contact with the Sun will cause a massive explosion on the Sun’s surface temperature to increase to 9,000 degrees kelvin in an instant.
The Sun will then attempt to cease the explosion by emitting heat from its core, ( diagram shows above )
The heat will cause the Sun to dim to a bluish colour. once the Sun reaches the Bluish colour, it will take approximately 14 days to restore its normal surface temperature, returning its colour of the Red Giant.
34 (1)
While the Sun is cooling the surface, the light from the sun will be much dimmer, because it takes anywhere from 7 – 8 and a half minutes depending on the Earth’s rotation for light from the Sun to hit Earth, People will not know the event has happened until 2:58 am on November 15th.
Bolden held a conference with Obama Administration to discuss further details of the ”Blackout”” event. According to Bolden, “”we do not expect any major effects from the Blackout event. The only effect this event will have on Earth is an increase of 6 – 8 degrees in temperature. the polar cap will be mostly affected by this. No one should worry much. This event would be similar to what Alaskans experience in the winter”.
Boleden further added, The only other effect it will have is everyone will get to have a true Black Friday after thanks giving.

THE PRESIDENT WHO ONCE LIVED IN A TOOL SHED- Richard M. Nixon

By : Unknown
In the middle of the Great Depression, one of America’s most notorious figures was living in an abandoned tool shed in the middle of a North Carolina forest. This was no ordinary vagrant. Rather, he would become the 37th president of the United States and Duke University’s most famous alum, but in the winter of 1934, he was a penniless law student, separated from his family and deathly afraid of failing to live up to their high expectations.
Forty years before his extra-legal endeavors as president would be studied by generations of students, Richard M. Nixon was himself a law student at Duke. During his three years there, Nixon not only learned the intricacies of the law but also how to overcome hardship, confront his deepest anxieties — and engineer a break-in.
Nixon
Richard Nixon in 1934, a freshman at Duke University Law School.
Source: AP
Born to a family of hardworking Quakers in Yorba Linda, California, the young Nixon was a big fish in a small pond — a champion debater and high-achieving student. But the ambitious future leader, as biographer Jonathan Aitken covers in Nixon: A Life, longed for bigger challenges. In May 1934, he saw a notice on a college bulletin board advertising $250 scholarships to attend the equally young and ambitious Duke Law School, keen to attract the best students and build a reputation as an Ivy League-caliber school in the backwoods of North Carolina.
Nixon applied and was accepted, but in the bigger Duke pond — far from home in what he likened to “a medieval cathedral town” — he felt overwhelmed. The scholarship program was known as “the meat grinder.” Competition was fierce and prospects were dim. On the first day, one of Nixon’s professors issued a dire warning about the challenges of finding legal work in the Depression: “Marry for money and practice law for love,” he advised.
Nixon was plagued by concerns about his inadequacies as a student and by financial concerns.
But even among ultra-competitive law students, Nixon’s work ethic stood out. He awoke at 5 a.m. to study before class and spent long hours, including Saturday nights, in the law library. One classmate called him “the hardest-working man I ever met,” but his dour personality led others to nickname him “Gloomy Gus.” The thin, ungainly scholar subsisted largely on Milky Way chocolate bars by day, and could be seen wolfing down soup in the student union by night before returning to the library.
Nixon was plagued by concerns about his inadequacies as a student and by financial concerns as well. Only half of the $250 scholarships for first-year students would be renewed for a second year, and he was already borrowing money from his father, busing tables and working in the library to make ends meet. Which explains how a college maintenance man came to find the cash-strapped future president in an abandoned tool shed not far from campus. Millions of Americans were living in similar makeshift dwellings that winter, but Nixon was likely the only Duke law student holed up in an 8-by-12-foot room with a bed, table and chair but no stove, and using corrugated cardboard for insulation. The One-L squatter was not reported to campus authorities and finished first in his class that year.
Despite his academic success, Nixon was beset by a restless paranoia during his second year. Worried that his grades would falter, causing him to lose his scholarship, he broke into the dean’s office to check his transcript, enlisting two fellow students to hoist him through the transom at the top of the door. His search revealed that he was still fourth in his class and — as with the Watergate break-in many years later — his greatest fears were the products of a fretful, tormented mind.
Nixon’s unusual living arrangements continued in his final year at Duke. With three other students, he shared two brass beds in a cabin that was a 1 1/2-mile walk from campus. Again, he went without electricity and indoor plumbing and resorted to showering on campus and hiding his shaving kit in the library.
Life after graduation did not get easier. The American job market in 1937 was still brutal, and Nixon’s applications to law firms all failed, as did his bid to join the FBI. Duke would hand its distinguished alum another stinging rejection decades later when it declined to host his presidential library.
But Nixon’s memories of Duke would remain fond. “I always remember that whatever I have done in the past or may do in the future,” he reflected in 1960, “Duke University is responsible in one way or another.”
And you thought Duke had a lot to answer for with Christian Laettner.

Is beauty really "Beautiful"?

By : Unknown

Today I have a very strange thought in my mind that I wish to share with my fellow readers.  The thought is infact very deep and elaborate if I look at it keenly. Its all about beauty….

Just think of what beauty is for us, is it a girl/woman/lady dressed in a nice way which inturn enhances her attractiveness? Or it’s the way that lady is built. See now whenever we say beauty we always try and relate it to a living being specially of opposite sex. Now, for a moment lets just think that no such things existed as “Opposite Sex” then what would the most common perception of the word “Beauty” be???. Isn’t that ironic!!

The feeling of the wind or the breeze that touches your skin when you stand outside in open, the feel when a water droplet rolls down your cheeks while you stand in the rain. Try to think of the extreme of the climates when all you can do is just wish that the weather would get better, and all of a sudden you see a rainbow right out of the window…these are just heavenly beauty which bless our moments and enlightens our heart and mind. This can either be cherished as the natures gift to us which is infact priceless or we can just ignore and get busy in our life which is surrounded by the worldly artificiality.

If I end up here in this note, many might think that the article is incomplete, however let me tell you that this article has a 2nd phase to come by hence will share the next set soon.

Anyone who has any identical view about beauty can share their thoughts via email to me and will share the same to all my viewers.

Guru Purnima
